Decided to try their food after reading great reviews and I was in the neighborhood. I’m so glad I did, because this is THEE BEST Thai food I’ve had in quite some time!! I’m a very picky eater, I love uniformity with restaurants because I’m a OCD home-chef that cooks every meal like I’m on MasterChef!😂😂 Anywho... if your as critical and picky as me, you won’t be disappointed. I ran in around 2pm, and my picky kids want to eat my (breakfast/lunch/dinner) meal after they tasted it. (Busy moms don’t eat much but rather ‘snack’ every little chance they get) Just got try them if you haven’t... you wont be disappointed.

Pretty consistent food taste but sometimes the spice amount varies. Have been going here for years. Love the Seafood Curry.

This place obviously knows how to satisfy their customers. Regularly with a kind approach. The food is reasonably priced, regularly delicious and neat.

Healthy portions, great, friendly wait staff. If you are going for lunch, they open at 11:00, get there early they can get real busy real fast.

Good food but very slow service. At high noon when everyone is coming for lunch they had 2 serves for the entire restaurant including seating hostess and cash out hostess, they need at least 4-6 people on the floor at all times.

With all the good ratings thought I'd try it.. but was I surprised..cut to chase my food had more oil than the coconut curry..no flavor at all just tasted the oil..my wife got a different dish n her food had no flavor at all either.. I love thai food but this was not good at all .. my pictures don't show it but that's supposed to be coconut curry it's just all oil

First time coming here. I tried there shrimp fried rice and it was amazing! I’ll definitely be coming back here again to try something new off there menu. 🥠💕 Portion size = price .

Decent Thai food for cheap. Their crab rangoons are stuffed and really cheap. You get your money worth it with amount of food. Their spicy levels are not as spicy but they do have additional chili paste and crushed chilli. But great place. Fast service.

Best Thai food I've found in metro Detroit! Each dish has its own distinct flavor, and almost always tasty. The decor is meh, but the food more than makes up for it. It's our go-to for Thai food any day of the week! (Well, except Sundays)

You could easily drive right by Thai Star. From the outside it looks pretty plain, and from the inside the decor is about the same. But you aren't there for the decor, right? You're there for the food. The food is quite good and the portions are good size too. This place get's pretty busy for weekday lunch service, so be prepared to wait if you're going at a peak time. Turn-over is pretty quick though, so the wait usually isn't very long. There are several choices in the area for Thai food, but Thai Star is a solid choice.

Best this food in the area. Not the most authentic you can get or fanciest, but the serving sizes here are tremendous. Meals also come with soup and spring roll. Hot tea is available in the winter.

Delicious homemade Thai food, friendly staff. Great for carry out too. Fair priced. I go here all the time.

Although the decor is dated the food is always consistently great.

Personally I'm not a fan. My kids think it's ok. Serving is... ok.

Food is really fresh and tastes good. We used to go very often. But recently, we see one angry lady in billing counter. She is very rude. I am reducing 2 stars for her rudeness. I would recommend carry out.

Food was okay. Not very tasty. Well, good thing is, it is cheap and amount of food is more than enough for one person. Tried Masamun Curry with Chiken. It was too salty. Left 4 star thinking may there are some other dishes which could be delicious. I would recommend to take your chance 😇

Lovely people, great food!We found they were one of the few places open on Thanksgiving day. The staff were gracious, and the food was plenteous and very tasty. Delicious Thom Yum soup with fresh mushrooms, and tasty spring roll were served with the dinners. I had Drunken noodles and my husband had Pineapple curry. Both were cooked fresh and served hot. Had to take half of mine home. Clean with a simple decor we were comfortable. We will. Definitely be back. thanks

I know many people always do five stars, but when I do five stars, I mean five stars. I am a really judgy person, but their food and service is high quality. My family has been going there for over a decade and it's our main food option when we go out. Their food is phenomenal. We recommend pad Thai noodles, gangai/pad pad, and egg fried rice. The people are so nice, they know us and we know them. When we go they basically already know what we are going to order lol.

Decent food. More expensive than other Thai options and staff wasn’t the easiest to deal with doing carry out.

Been coming here since I was literally 6 me and my whole family my dad owned the tailoring store next door back in 2000s we used to get it everyday and I still get it once a month and for the past 20 years they never went up on their prices and always served great food and a good amount for a great price my number place to get Thai food

The Curry Fried Rice with Chicken is delicious

Everything is good here. The service is lacking now, the lunch crowd is growing because their food is DELICIOUS! I recommend trying this place in the evening where you can get better service. The food is worth it!

Good service and food

Been here multiple times with my colleagues as its close to my work and one of my colleague loves Thai food. At first have been kind of a regular to this place after one incident with wrong order. Ordered Fried rice with tofu instead received fried rice with chicken and never been to this place after that. So make sure they get your order written down exactly like you want.

A lunchtime favorite for those who work in the area. The vegetables were fresh. The food was tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive.

My family has been going to Thai Star since it opened. I don't even remember when that was. We have tried many different Thai and various Asian restaurants and Thai Star is still our favorite. They do by far their most business at lunch, so it might be a bit crowded then. But the service is always accurate, pleasant, and quick. And the food is always delicious. I tend to order my food "medium" which is just a little hot. Chicken Satay is an excellent appetizer and will serve several people. The portions are always generous but not overwhelming. Give the delicious Thai Iced Tea a try.Prices are very reasonable. I can not recommend Thai Star highly enough!

Excellent menu, delicious Pad Thai!! If you like spicy get the hot. Medium was not hot at all. Recommend the cheese Rangoon, way better than Chinese places do it. 5 star review from a guy who has been to Thailand a lot!!

Fantastic thai! Good thai places always have cheap paneling, bad trim work, old Christmas decorations, and tube tv.. perfect! Food is amazing and you get choice of soup and a spring roll. I go here often for lunch..started ordering down the menu but ever since I tried peanut curry.. I'm stuck.. can't order anything else. So the last 500 times I've been there that's all I've ordered.. I travel a lot eat at a lot of Thai places.. lucky to have this place close to my work.

The service was excellent, my very particular order was correctly prepared, the food tasted great, and the cost was very low.

The spice was true to its description. Their medium is spicy but not too much! The server was friendly, and the portions were big and the dishes were delicious and priced well!
